BTVS Episode 2x09 "What's My Line (Part 1)" Review
Rating: 8/10
Great episode, a little slow but I think that's necessary in the first part of a two parter to build up the plot. I'm really excited to get more lore about Drusilla, and I hope they explain why she's actually sick. So curious if she's actually going to get cured or not. I'm also so curious how her and Spike even fell in love. At first I was a little disappointed with the villains in this ep, because they talk about the assassins like they're insanely dangerous and the biggest threat, but then Buffy kills the first one so easily that it just feels anticlimactic. However, the plot twist at the end is crazy, what do you MEAN Kendra is a Slayer, I'm literally so excited. I'm writing this so impatiently cause I need to find out more. Other than the main plot, I really liked seeing Buffy talk about skating cause it's nice but also sad to see that she does have interests other than vampire slaying. The stuff about her future career just makes me feel so sorry for her. Oz showed up but again, literally for 5 seconds, I don't know why they're teasing me so bad with him. Also we got the first mention of the Scooby gang, let's go!! Not gonna do a characters section for this ep, I'll save it for the next review, but I will say I'm happy to see a Black character finally, and I'm so glad it seems like she's actually important and not just a throwaway villain. I don't really expect much when it comes to POC representation in this show, but it's nice to get it when it happens (The Jamaican (?) accent did jumpscare me though).
Out of context notes:
"buffy serving daphne rn" "i would not be able to handle dating drusilla omfg" "shoes on the bed is crazy"
