Buffy 1x8 - I, Robot... You, Jane

Review:
BTVS Episode 1x08 "I, Robot... You, Jane" Review

It's always interesting to see plots from older media surrounding technology cause sometimes they age super badly, but I think this episode was actually a really fun concept. A demon trapped in a book is a classic trope and I loved the take of it being released into the internet. I feel like I surely must've seen something similar but nothing comes to mind so it feels really fresh to me. I also really liked the demon then getting transferred into a metal body but I can't give any explanation other than the Bionicles kid in me thinks monster robots are cool. I get the feeling that some people would probably find this episode cringe or stupid, but I just found it super entertaining, and that could partly be because it's funny to see how technology was talked about then. I also liked how Buffy defeated him with electricity, calling back to her being electrocuted earlier. The ending scene of the main 3 joking about how they will never be able to find a normal relationship, laughing, and then going serious? Amazing.Characters:
- **Giles:** MVP. Giles would absolutely hate the modern digital era and I'm so sorry for that. I'd say get this man a Kindle but he would probably hate not having to turn real pages. There was a moment where he took off his glasses and I kinda understood Alex. Also, no one will get this but he gives Professor Layton vibes.
- Miss Calendar: I don't remember if I was told her first name. I'm still reeling a bit from learning Giles isn't Giles' first name. I really liked her character, but I was actually super shocked that she knew about the supernatural already. I think I'm still a bit confused about how common it is for people to know this stuff? I get surprised when people know but I also feel like way more people should know because these monsters are not subtle at all but then again most of the characters who have witnessed something supernatural have died so... Anyway, I hope we see more of her cause I really liked her interactions with Giles.
- Willow: I feel like she hasn't had the chance to do anything that interesting yet. She had her moment of standing up for herself at the end which is nice, but I would've liked to see her do more. I know that will come at some point, I just hope it's soon.
